Hello Guys,

I am about to install Moodle 3.1+ (Build: 20160616), but I am stuck on the stage where I should confirm the paths. When I click on next, the system says on below with red letters "Parent directory (/var/www) is not writeable. Data directory (/var/www/moodledata) cannot created by the installer."

Any idea, what have I done wrong?

Best Regards,

You need to check the permissions and ownership of your var/www folder.  It should be owned by the webuser (www-data on debian, apache on other linux distros) and the webuser needs to have write permissions - normally it is set to permissions of 755 or something similar.
